![]() ![]() Paul was a loyal and giving friend to his life-long pals, and sincerely appreciated those close friends who visited and supported him through the years. He was predeceased by his Brother Richard. Paul is survived by his daughter, Angela Jurick, Sister Barbara Nipe and Brother Neil. He was employed at DuPont Chambers Works, Hancock’s Bridge Nuclear Power Plant and for many years at Acme Markets in Delaware. He served his country in the Army and is a Vietnam Veteran. He attended Rutgers University in Camden. He graduated from Salem High School in 1961 where he played football for two years, was a member of the Literary Business Staff and answered to the nickname of "Bunyan". He was born at Louisville, Kentucky and raised in Hancock’s Bridge and Salem New Jersey. He is the son of Francis and Anna (Bacon) Vincent. Burial will be at the Independence Cemetery in Independence, KY. Visitation will be held at Mason Christian Village, 411 Western Row Road, Mason, Ohio 45040, on Monday, February 20 from 9:30 am until time of the funeral service at 11:00 am. He provided assistance for para-church organizations including: CBC&S (Alumni Hall), Great Lakes Bible College, the North American Christian Convention (treasurer for 2 years), and Round Lake Christian Assembly (women’s dorm.) Beyond the work day and in his retirement years Paul enjoyed gardening, walking, bike riding, and traveling. He assisted churches with stewardship and capital fund drives in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, and Illinois. Paul was included in the Christian Benevolent Association’s Hall of Fame for his outstanding work with the aging. He was also a teacher for the Seeker’s Class of Christ’s Church at Mason. After moving to Mason Christian Village in 1997 with his wife, Paul served as president of the Mason Christian Village Residents’ Association for 3 years and continued supply preaching when called upon. But when asked by the Canton Christian Home trustees, he delayed his retirement for 2 years and served as Project Coordinator for construction of a four story wing added to the original building. Paul planned to retire in 1990 after 27 years in benevolent work. When the federal and state government required administrators to be licensed, Paul took classes, passed the licensure test, and was in the first class of administrators to be licensed in the State of Ohio. In 1976 Canton Christian Home opened with Paul as the founding administrator. ![]() Rose Lane Nursing Home was sold to make way for a new project. ![]() His vision was for a home for older persons to live in Christian community with graduated care as their needs became greater in later years. After a year of administration, Paul, as well as others, convinced the church board that what was really needed was a residential facility that included nursing care. ![]() First Christian Church in Canton, Ohio, invited Paul to become their administrator for an existing nursing home in 1969. Called by the Christian Benevolent Association to raise funds and promote the building of Mount Healthy Christian Home in Cincinnati, OH, Paul became the assistant administrator after the home was built. In this ministry he found his true calling, merging his Christian faith with his business and administrative skills. In 1963 Paul entered his ministry in the area of benevolence. Following a brief ministry with the Brightmoor Christian Church, Detroit, MI, he began working with Great Lakes Bible College to assist a financial drive to move their campus from Vestaburg, MI to Lansing and to join the administrative and teaching staff. He continued postgraduate studies in business at Wilmington College in Ohio. From 1951 to 1956 he ministered with the Grape Grove Church of Christ in Jamestown, OH. At CBS he met his wife and became an ordained minister. Paul became a student at Cincinnati Bible Seminary in 1948 to prepare for fulltime Christian work and graduated in 1952 as Class Orator. He was attached to the Adjutant General’s department in New Guinea and later the Philippines. After a brief period of employment with Republic Steel, he served in the U.S Army during World War II. Born and raised in Massillon, OH, Paul graduated from Washington High School in 1941 he was a Massillon Tiger at heart all of his life. He will be missed greatly by three grandchildren: Rachel Kieltyka (Joseph), Quinn Ballinger, and Tess Ballinger. He was a devoted father to three children: Beth Brokaw of Louisville, KY the late Blake Wiener of Schaumburg, Illinois and Rebecca Ballinger ((Rusty) of Independence, KY. WIENER Paul Edwin Wiener joined his beloved wife, Alice Lorraine Wiener (nee Allred), in heaven on Februat age 93. ![]()
